Here at Clean ‘n Dry we just never know what we are going to run into each day.  Recently we were called upon to clean up after a pretty nasty accident on a sofa here in Walla Walla.  Some urine was released prior to making it to the restroom.  The principles for removing odor are complicated.  We want to remove the source of the odor.  If the odor is just covered up by a strong deodorizer it can either be too potent (which might cause irritation to those in the affected area) or if it’s not strong enough the deodorizer might fade and viola the bad smell comes back because it was really never gone at all.

In our almost 20 years of experience we have developed a unique solution for handling tough odor problems.  We apply a ph neutralization process with a mild deodorizer.  The ph neutralization process is created by mixing a safe acidic (ph below 7) with a safe basic (ph above 7) product.  Both are safe individually.  They are food grade products.  When the acidic and basic touch they release a tremendous amount of energy as they react to reduce each other and come to stasis.  This energy breaks down urine crystals and other biological matter.  We flush out the affected area until we can verify through our extraction tool that the contamination is gone.  We then apply our regular prespray and clean following the remainder of our 12 step process.

On this sofa we applied our solution after a careful pre-vacuuming, which removed the loose dry soil.  We had to pry the back cushions up and away so we could reach back in behind the seat to carefully apply our process.  We cleaned the affected area and then verified that we had achieved success by a vigorous smelling test.  We then applied our pre-spray and cleaned very thoroughly.  We met with success.
